CALL FOR KEN LIVINGSTONE TO BRING VOTE WINNING MOUSTACHE BACK

With just weeks before the London Assembly and Mayoral elections on May 3rd the Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has called on Labour candidate Ken Livingstone to bring back his vote winning moustache.

With Livingstone trailing Boris Johnson the so called ‘barbers friend’ in the polls the BLF says that Ken needs to remind voters of a time when he was a successful leader of London. His trademark moustache is a symbol of that.

The BLF is not party political but supports Beard Friendly candidates at Election times.

The group which campaigns against, beardism, irrational prejudice against the hirsute says that there is little sign of the main candidates pursuing a Beard Friendly approach so far in the campaign.

BLF Organiser Keith Flett said If Ken brought back his moustache it would give him added gravitas at the polls. We do maintain also that Boris is the ‘barbers friend’ because one look at his hair ‘style’ is often enough to remind people that they need to visit the hairdresser

FOR A BEARD FRIENDLY LONDON

Action to prevent social discrimination against the hirsute in London’s bars and restaurants

A crack down on displays in barbers shops windows

Restrictions on displays of shaving materials in High St shops

Specific action to stop taxi drivers refusing fares from the hirsute

A quota for the employment of the hirsute in the Metropolitan police

More hirsute employees at City Hall

A celebration of the diverse styles of dress and appearance of Londoners on the South Bank each year
