Broadcaster James O’Brien beats Spurs Harry Kane by a whisker to win Beard of Autumn poll

The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has said that LBC and Newsnight presenter James O’Brien has beaten Spurs start Harry Kane in the vote for the coveted Beard of Autumn 2017 title.

O’Brien got 28% of the vote to Kane’s 27% with England cricket star Moeen Ali on 21% third and Editor of the Good Beer Guide Roger Protz fourth.

The Beard of Autumn poll closed at midday on 19th October with the winner officially announced on 20th October. It is the last of four quarterly seasonal contests which lead to the Beard of the Year in December

BLF Organiser Keith Flett said, it’s fair to say the result was a close shave between James O’Brien and Harry Kane. Hirsute congratulations to both.
