STUART BROAD ‘CONTENDER’ FOR BEARD OF AUTUMN
The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has said England T20 cricket captain Stuart Broad is a contender for Beard of Autumn, the final precursor to Beard of the Year 2012.
The winner is announced on 21st October.
Broad who has a proto-beard came into contention after previous leader Rob Brydon was found to be trimming.
Other contenders include The World Tonight presenter Robin Lustig who is stepping down and veteran singer Tom Jones
BLF Organiser Keith Flett said, it’s quite unusual for an England cricket captain to have a beard on a regular basis and in such a high profile competition as the World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka the potential to raise the positive profile of facial hair is considerable
