Marking the 170th anniversary of the British 1848

On Monday 10th April 1848, the year of Revolutions, the Chartists gathered on Kennington Common with a view to marching to Parliament. Heavy rain and the army (at Blackfriars Bridge) intervened but it is still a moment worth recalling.

The Friends of Kennington Park, where the Chartists met, have launched a bid for National Lottery funding to help organise events to mark the British 1848. You can support it at this link (before 24th November)
