As White Hart Lane calls last orders, the Tottenham Beer Mile extends

Spurs play their last game at White Hart Lane on Sunday, and the stadium will be cleared overnight (seats have been sold to fans) as work on the new stadium continues. Meanwhile Spurs will spend a season at Wembley. The new White Hart Lane and what it means for local residents is hardly without controversy locally but that is for another post.

What we do know is that as the old White Hart Lane calls last orders, the Tottenham Beer Mile is extending further.

On Saturday Brewheadz opened their tap room on the Rosebery Industrial Estate which broadly is about halfway between Beavertown and Redemption in terms of the geography of Tottenham taprooms. A 318 bus from Tottenham High Rd will take you close-ish.

Brewheadz joins the two tap rooms up in Northumberland Park by Spurs (old & new grounds), but still in London N17. One Mile End which moved much of its brewing operations to the Compass Industrial Estate, West Rd (around 5 minutes walk from Northumberland Park bus station) in 2016. In the next block of the same estate is the long established and well known Redemption Brewery. It is a rather larger affair (three times the capacity of Redemption’s first brewery) complete with a first-floor lounge Unusually for brewery tap rooms it also has ample toilets

Its not yet clear (to me anyway) whether Brewheadz intend to open every Saturday but openings at One Mile End and Redemption vary. Its best to check their twitter handles (below)

By contrast Beavertown, easily the biggest taproom, opens 2-8 every Saturday, special events aside. On the same estate Pressure Drop are in the process of constructing a new brewery and the taproom there should be open in late summer (at least according to the ever reliable construction operative).

Affinity is around 10 minutes away past Tottenham Hale towards South Tottenham in Markfield Rd. A new beer and music venue Five Miles is due to open close by on 19th May although I have few details on that

One obvious way to do the Beer Mile is to visit One Mile End and Redemption first, then Brewheadz and then head south to Beavertown and finally Affinity. Alternatively you could do it the other way round… Either way there is a lot of great beer to sample in Tottenham on most Saturdays
