The decision of Cloudwater brewery to stop production of cask ale has provoked the question on social media about what is the best type of beer to marinate the beard in (where applicable)

The Beard Liberation Front has produced guidelines to help the hirsute tackle this important issue:

1 Do not marinate your beard in pasteurised keg beer. It will have as much impact as marinating it in a cup of tea.

2] Do marinate your beard in a robust cask beer such as a DIPA or imperial stout. The secondary fermentation in the beer will promote beard growth and yeast cultures may stimulate and strengthen the underlying follicles.

3] Do marinate your beard in a robust keykeg beer which should have a similar impact to 2] above
