After the medal haul can GB win ‘Beard of the Olympics’
The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has said that Great Britain could be on course this weekend to win the ultimate Olympic accolade: Beard of the Olympics
The Olympics has seen some famously hirsute medal winners including Mark Spritz in 1972 and Daley Thompson in 1984.
In Rio the beard is a major feature.
There are 4 GB athletes in the final Beard of the Olympic poll which closes at midday on Sunday.
The campaigners say that the beard not only adds gravitas to athletes performances but can also give an aerodynamic advantage.
