As Wiggins wins again, beards a key to Olympic success in Rio
The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has said that after Sir Bradley Wiggins and his co-cyclists at the Rio Olympics won gold for a third time, facial hair is a key to success at the Games.
The organisers on the official Rio2016.com website agree.
The Olympics has seen some famously hirsute medal winners including Mark Spritz in 1972 and Daley Thompson in 1984.
In Rio the beard is a major feature. The Beard Liberation Front has noted the performances of some hirsute athletes
