Hirsute campaigners place temporary ban on beard oil and beard wax as heat wave continues

The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has announced a temporary ban on the use of beard oils and beard wax as the heatwave continues in some parts of the country.

The move, the first time the campaigners have taken such action, follows a letter to The Guardian (21st July, below).
The campaigners say that the specific problem is that in very warm or hot weather beard oil or beard wax designed to keep beard hairs at their peak may drip and land on the feet of beard wearers who are wearing a traditional pair of sandals.

The BLF says that for the duration of the heatwave the hirsute should use craft beer not oil or wax to keep their beards in peak condition. While the beer may drip it will cause no problems for the feet.

BLF Organiser Keith Flett said, generally beard oils and waxes are safe to use so the ban is an exceptional measure during the current hot spell

Notes

The Guardian 21st July
Brian Smith believes that Keith Flett might be writing to you regarding PMs and beards (Letters, 20 July). During this hot spell, Mr Flett and other beard-wearers may be far more preoccupied with the dangers of beard wax melting and dripping on to open-toed sandals, thus causing minor burns and consequently undue pressure on an already overburdened NHS.
