Tottenham Brewery named Beard Friendly Employer of the Year

The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has said that Beavertown Brewery in Tottenham has been named Beard Friendly Employer of the Year.

The Brewery won the Award when it was a lot smaller and based in neighbouring Hackney in 2013. It has now expanded and has a diverse workforce including numbers of beards. It is also renowned for brewing beard friendly beers.

The campaigners focused this year particularly on ‘craft’ brewers because of the link with beards and looked at brewers such as Cloudwater in Manchester and Weird Beard in West London. Both scored highly on the beard friendly employer but Beavertown shaved them.

Winners of the accolade in recent times have ranged from the Church of England to the Independent newspaper
BLF Organiser Keith Flett said, we think Beavertown is a positive model for the beard friendly employer. The combination of craft beer and beards, while not essential, does send an important message of beard friendliness.
