Avocado on Rye named Beard Friendly Sandwich of the Year

The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has named the avocado on rye sandwich as the Beard Friendly sandwich 2016 as part of Beard Week 2016 which started on 27th June and culminates with the announcement of Beard of Summer on Saturday 2nd July.

Each year during Beard Week in June the campaigners search for a sandwich that does not have excessive mayo or salad which tends up in the beard rather than the mouth.

Previous winners have included Chorizo and Red Pepper and goats cheese and caramelised red onion.

Contenders this year included toasted haggis and cheese, roasted beetroot and goats cheese, cucumber, ham & mustard

BLF Organiser Keith Flett an avocado on rye open sandwich is both healthy and beard friendly. We think our campaigning work is making an impact.
