Glastonbury’s  fashion icon Michael Eavis gets Lifetime Achievement Award

The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has said that ahead of National Beard Week which starts on Monday the founder of the Glastonbury Festival Michael Eavis is set to be given a Lifetime Achievement Award on Friday.

Eavis, 80, has one of the most iconic beards in British public life along with Brian Blessed and Frank Dobson.

The campaigners say that the Lifetime Achievement Award is for the positive image that Eavis has presented of the hirsute in public life over five decades.

BLF Organiser Keith Flett, we are pleased that Michael Eavis is being honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award. His beard has proved sustainable through the dark days of pogonophobia in Britain and he now finds himself a fashion icon.
