The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, which campaigns against beardism, irrational prejudice against the hirsute, has said that baked cheese biscuits such as mini-cheddars have been declared the most beard friendly snack.

In an on-line poll the cheese biscuits scored 39% while pork scratchings got 32%

The poll came after the finalists in the World Cup of Crisps, curated by Richard Osman, were declared to be not beard friendly.

In that vote Pickled Onion Monster Munch beat Wotsits.

The campaigners say that the problem with many crisps and crisp related snacks for the hirsute is that small crumbs tend to break off in the eating process and end up in the beard.

However, the BLF continues to work on a list of beard friendly snacks which include pork scratchings, cheese footballs, wasabi peas and karkli where this is not the case.

BLF organiser Keith Flett said, Crumbs in the beard are of a major concern for the hirsute and that includes crisps and crisp related snacks. We’re still working on the ultimate beard friendly snack but baked cheese biscuits and pork scratchings are clearly popular with the hirsute.
