Moeen’s Beard Power could guide England to World Cup semi-final after Beard of Spring vote

The Beard Liberation Front, the network of beard wearers that campaigns against beardism, irrational prejudice against the hirsute, has said that the beard power of Moeen Ali could guide England to the World T20 semi-final after he came second in the coveted Beard of Spring 2016 Award following an on-line poll.

The poll was won by veteran Labour politician Lord Falconer but Moeen gave him a close shave after only joining the poll with two days to spare.

Moeen was named Man of the Match in England’s previous game

The Award, one of four seasonal hirsute accolades that leads to the Beard of the Year in December, celebrates the coming of Spring and the growth of beards new and old.
