COMPETITION BRISTLES AS VOTE FOR BEARD FRIENDLY PUB OF THE YEAR REACHES LAST ORDERS

The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has said with time set to be called on the vote in the on-line poll for the Beard Friendly Pub 2013, competition is bristling.

Closing time for the vote is midnight on Friday 17th January with the winner announced on Saturday 18th January

The BLF says that the number and range of Beard Friendly Pubs continues to increase significantly.

The criteria for the Award include:

Beard Friendly Pub: a pub that welcomes the hirsute and often has a significant number of hirsute customers.

Beard Friendly Ambience: a pub that may have fewer hirsute customers but is welcoming to the hirsute through bearded bar staff and beard friendly beers

The campaign group says it welcomes diversity in both appearance and drinking but does think that there is a link between stylish beards and beers and good pubs

BLF Organiser Keith Flett said, as often in polls as last orders approaches for voting there has been an upsurge in voters. However there are still several days to check the pubs listed for beard friendliness and cast a vote

The winners will be divided between London and Provincial and people have a vote in each category. The poll is designed as a bit of something approaching fun in January.
