HIRSUTE CAMPAIGNERS SUSPEND BRIGHTON COUNCIL LEADER AS SUPPORTER
The Beard Liberation Front, the network of beard wearers that campaigns against beardism, has said that it has confirmed the decision of its disputes committee to suspend the leader of Brighton Council Jason Kitcat as a supporter amid concerns that he may be bringing the hirsute into disrepute.
The campaign group says that it has been pleased to count Mr Kitcat as supporter and one of a small minority of UK Council leaders who are hirsute.
However at the moment Mr Kitcat is involved in a dispute with the GMB trade union in Brighton over a plan to cut the wages of some Council workers.
The BLF says it hopes Mr Kitcat will think again on this and if he does it will be ready to reinstate him as a supporter.
Mr Kitcat’s supporter status has been suspended for seven days with immediate effect
BLF Organiser Keith Flett said Jason Kitcat’s designer beard has made something of a political fashion in recent times but if we find that someone may potentially be bringing the hirsute into disrepute then we have no alternative but to take action
